Today was a minor setback in my quest for normalcy, but that’s
okay. You live, you learn.
While some of the staff was extremely outgoing and made me feel comfortable
with what I was electing to do; others weren’t so. Not to mention Dr. Patterson
was stunned that I was the one inquiring about the procedure (Breast reduction),
and not my partner. He was totally shut off and looking at his computer the
whole time with no real conversation at all with me. The only time he did say
anything was to have me take my shirt off so he could measure my breasts. It just
made the process infuriating.
He wrapped up the consultation (with no questions about medical history) with a nod and informed me that his nurse would come in to quote me….it was stunning. She quoted 10,000 dollars! And that was with OHIP coverage. Mastoplexy , liposuction and a lift on ONE breast alone was nearly 5 grand. NOT including anesthetic. None of these were procedures I had asked for either. I simply wanted an even shape across my chest, not to have them “lifted”.
All I’m saying is …don’t get sucked in ladies. Know what to look for.
1) Check out the website and whether or not your particular procedure is covered.

2) Check if that office deals with OHIP.
3) Know when you’re being branded a cash cow. OHIP will not
cover breast reductions done in a private office. (Must be in hospital)
